The Zverev Brothers, Alexander and Mischa were hosted on ZDF Sports Studio German programme on Saturday & Alexander Zverev couldn’t resist himself from speaking on Roger Federer’s excellence.
Alexander was born in Hamburg, while Mischa birth’s took place in Moscow as their parents were still living in Russia at the time.
Now both of them are living in Monte Carlo & explains “better training conditions” as the reason for shifting .’The Zverevs are among the many other players, including Novak Djokovic, Grigor Dimitrov, Milos Raonic, Tomas Berdych, Daniil Medvedev, Borna Coric have all set their residence in Monte Carlo.
Alexander spoke about his admiration for Roger Federer: ‘There’s no one ‘perfect’ in tennis. Except maybe when we talk about Roger. You could say he’s perfect.’
Roger Federer was suitably impressed by Alexander Zverev and named him as part of a trio of young ATP starlets who are already following in the footsteps of ‘Big Four’ rivals Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray.
The 19-time Grand Slam champion praised the young star & placed him in a group along with Nick Kyrgios and Denis Shapovalov who are already making their impact felt on the tour, despite their relative lack of years at the very top level. ‘I like what I’m seeing with Zverev ,‘I see somebody who is working towards the future.
About his goals for 2018, the 20-year-old, who will start his new season at the Hopman Cup, said: ‘I’m the world no.4 , therefore I hope to do better at the Slams this year.’ The 20-year-old it yet to beat a top-50 player in the Majors and he achieved his best result at Wimbledon, where he reached the fourth round.
