India’s Amanpreet Singh clinched a bronze medal in his maiden appearance in an ISSF World Cup Final, but the fancied Jitu Rai fizzled out to finish a poor seventh on the fourth day of competition .



Amanpreet held his nerve in the tense moments of the elimination round to make it to the top three. He finished with 202.2 points.Rai could manage only 123.2 to finish last in the seven- man final.

Serbia’s Damir Mikec won the gold with a solid score of 229.3, while Ukraine’s Oleh Omelchuck took silver with 228 points.

Amanpreet, who participated in 21 World Cups, tasted his first success at the ISSF World Cup 2017 in March 2017.



Amanpreet had clinched a silver medal in the 50m pistol event at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range. The event also saw the ace shooter Jitu Rai winning the Gold medal in the tournament.

India began the ISSF Shooting World Cup Final campaign on a golden note as Jitu Rai and Heena Sidhu clinched the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event gold
