A 99-YEAR-OLD tennis fan in Stirlingshire was given the perfect birthday surprise when tennis ace Andy Murray popped by to wish her well.
The adorable gran was visiting the Cromlix Hotel in Dunblane – Andy’s Home town – with her grandson Ranald to celebrate her 99th birthday.
The gran was chuffed to meet the World no. 1.
Little did she know the tennis super star, who owns the venue, would stop by her table to deliver a personal birthday greeting.
The hotel posted a snap of the pair on Facebook saying: “Ranald brought his lovely gran to Cromlix to celebrate her 99th birthday.
“She got the surprise of her life when Cromlix’s owner dropped by her table to wish her Happy Birthday too!”
And fans were completely touched by the gesture, liking the post over 4,700 times.
David Currie said: “Well done Andy I am sure you made the ladies day ,not many Managers would do what you have done nice to see the personnel touch is still there”
While Isabel Easton added: “That is just so like Andy Murray, a real Champion. Happy birthday lovely Lady.x”
The former Wimbledon champion bought the luxury property for a reported £1.8million in 2013, and since renovating the Victorian property it has been named the Scottish Hotel of the Year.
This year Andy fought bravely as he lost out in five sets to Sam Querrey in Wimbledon quarter-final.
Recently he told how he burst into tears watching his beloved Hibs as a kid — because of fans’ deafening when they scored.
And it seems there’s more demand to see Andy perform off the court.
