India’s gymnast Aruna Budda Reddy creates history after clinching India’s first ever medal in Gymnastics World Cup.
22-year old Aruna scored impressive 13.649 points to bag bronze medal & finish behind Gold medallist Tjasa Kysslef of Slovania and Emily Whitehead of Australia in women vault’s category of Gymnastics World Cup 2018 at Melbourne.
Reddy registered brilliant execution of 9.066 in her first vault which helped her to gain the momentum & she ended up becoming the first ever Indian male or female gymnast to clinch World Cup medal.
Another Indian in the women’s vault category, Pranati Nayak finished sixth with a overall score of 13.416.
Reddy, who is a former black belt and Karate trainer, finished 14th at the qualification round of the Vault apparatus at the 2014 Commonwealth Games & ninth in Asian Games respectively. She had an impressive outing at the 2017 Asian Championships where she finished 6th in Vault category.
She would have another chance of getting another medal for India as she will participate in Floor’s final tomorrow.
Men’s Ring Final
Rakesh kumar Patra just missed out of a medal after finishing fourth in the Men’s Ring Final category. He scored an impressive 13.733 points & just missed out from 0.700 points.
Earlier, he qualified for the finals by scoring 13.700 in the qualifications.

Men’s Vault :
Ashish kumar, who put Indian gymnastics on World Map by winning India’s first medal at Commonwealth Games will participate in Vault’s final tomorrow.
He qualified for the finals by scoring 13.733 points & ended up on 6th position in qualifications.
Men’s Bar :
Rakesh Patra who missed out of a medal today, will look to try his luck tomorrow again in Bar category. He concluded his qualifications on 7th position with 13.566 points.
Women’s Floor :
Indian gymnastics new sensation Aruna Reddy will be appearing in another final tomorrow in floor category, she ended on 7th position in qualifications with 11.466 points.
