Indian star shuttler PV Sindhu continue her incredible run in BWF Dubai Superseries Finals 2017 with straight games victory over World no.2 Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi at the $1 million event.

Sindhu took just 36 minutes to dispatch her Japanese opponent and now leads their head-to-head record 5-2.

World No. 3 Sindhu totally dominated her opponent & beat her by 21-9, 21-13 in just 36 minutes to top group A in women’s singles at the Sheikh Hamdan Indoor Stadium here. This was the third & last match of the group stage.

Olympic silver medalist who clinched two Super Series titles this season before winning a silver at the World Championship, will on Saturday face China’s Chen Yufei in the semi-final, who defeated Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon by 21-18, 13-21, 21-18 in a Group B match of BWF Dubai Finals 2017.

Sindhu started the match on a high racing to a 5-0 lead against Japanese. Yamaguchi looked absolutely no match as her shuttles kept going long and Dubai cheered every shot that Sindhu played.

The second game started on an equal footing with Sindhu and Yamaguchi going neck to neck for the initial four points. At 6-5, both players were engaged in 33 shot rally before Yamaguchi sent it wide. A couple of unforced errors and Sindhu was  leading 8-6.

After the break, it was all Sindhu show as Yamaguchi who is known for speed and quick movement, was unable to keep up with Sindhu’s placement & the Indian sealed the match by 21-9, 21-13 to book her spot in the semi-final of BWF Dubai Superseries Finals 2017.
