World Champion Lewis Hamilton has praised the new McLaren’s MCL33 car & exchanged some best wishes with his former team mate Fernando Alonso.
The maiden McLaren-Renault car, dressed in an arresting papaya orange livery, was launched on Friday in Spain ahead of new 2018 season.
A new-looked McLaren took the social media by storm & even Lewis Hamilton couldn’t stop himself to comment on its striking orange livery.
Hamilton, who made his F1 debut as a McLaren driver, won his fourth World Championship last year in a dominant way while on the other hand, Alonso struggled his way for a third year in a row by its unsuccessful McLaren but the Spaniard looks optimistic with the new supply of Renault.
“Looks dope bro, McLaren looking as it should,” Hamilton posted.
“Looks good man, hope to be closer to you guys,” responded Alonso. “See u in bcn [Barcelona].”
There were rumors of Alonso moving away from McLaren as the two-time world champion was not at all satisfied with under-performing car and the relationship with Honda.
However, he signed a new contract with the same team and looks confident with the new McLaren-Renault tie up & suggests he would challenge everyone at the front of grid this season.
During the launch he said, “Good times are coming, that’s the message“.
In addition to that, McLaren chief Zak Brown told the reporters that he would try to get back Lewis Hamilton in McLaren at any cost if the current world champion fails to agree a new deal with Mercedes but it looks highly doubtful to happen.
It would be interesting to see if new McLaren’s MCL33 can challenge the heavyweights Mercedes in 2018 with the new season all set to get underway on 25th March in Australia.
