Man City Ready to battle Manchester United to sign This Star Player

Manchester City are reportedly battling Manchester United for the signature of Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini.

City and United are both said to have scouted the Italian youngster who has a rumoured £22million release clause.

The 21-year-old is a graduate of Roma’s academy and has forced his way into I Giallorossi’s first-team with a string of fine performances in Serie A and the Champions League so far this season.

Pellegrini was called up for Italy’s senior squad ahead of this month’s World Cup qualifiers – but had to withdraw following an injury sustained against AC Milan on Sunday.

Roma brought Pellegrini back to the club in the summer after activating a buy back clause following impressive performances for Sassuolo last season.

Meanwhile, it is also reported the Manchester transfer rivalry is set to continue with City and United both pursuing New York City FC’s Jack Harrison.

Harrison was part of the youth set-up at Old Trafford until the age of 14, but the Blues are believed to have first-refusal for his signature due to their close ties with his current club.

The 20-year-old English winger has impressed during his spell in Major League Soccer and Man City are keen to bring him back to England according to reports in The Sun.
