Manchester City tracking 20-year-old Switzerland forward City tracking 20-year-old Switzerland forward

Manchester City are keeping a close eye on Swiss prodigy Breel Embolo.

The 20-year-old moved to Schalke from Basle in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £20million but suffered a serious injury following a nasty foul on October 2 of that year.

Embolo has gone on to impress since recovering from the ankle fracture, medial collateral ligament damage and a ruptured joint

While he has not scored this campaign, the forward has made five appearances since he managed to put his injury frustrations behind him.

Embolo featured for five minutes at the end of Northern Ireland’s play-off game against his nation, which they managed to draw 0-0 to reach the World Cup in Russia.

He has had a stunning rise since making his debut for Basle in the 2013-14 campaign.

Cameroon-born Embolo scored just four minutes into his debut against Aarau and hit 21 in 61 Super League games for Basle before making the switch to the Bundesliga.
