Second seed PV Sindhu sailed into the women’s singles quarterfinals While H.S Prannoy And Saina Nehwal Crashes out of Hong Kong Open Super Series .
Sindhu crushed Japan’s Aya Ohori in straight games to qualify for the last eight of the tournament. However, Saina Nehwal lost to eighth seed Chen Yufei of China in a hard fought encounter. Nehwal took the first game 18-21. But, Yufei staged a comeback to win the match 18-21, 21-19, 21-10.
It was curtains for India in the men’s singles after HS Prannoy went down fighting to Japan’s Kazumasa Sakai 21-11, 10-21, 15-21 in a 54-minute battle. Parupalli Kashyap and Sourabh Verma had lost in the opening round yesterday .
