Playing its fourth and final round robin encounter, defending champs India dominated Nepal 90-44 and earned yet another victory to finish the South Asian Basketball Championship.
India won it by 46 points as the final score line was 90-44; by this result India has retained the title of South Asian Champions and has achieved a “historic five-peat.”
The start of 1st quarter saw India at its best as they were playing effortlessly and still scoring points, Indian players didn’t give much time and started building double digit lead from the 1st quarter itself. Final score of the 1st quarter was 25(India) – 6(Nepal).
2nd quarter 45-13 also saw the same action as the first quarter because India scored 20 points and Nepal just scored 6 points like in the first quarter. Nepal tried but couldn’t breach the Indian defense as India played attacking game by keeping the ball with them through great passes.
In 3rd quarter, India was having a huge lead of 45 points as the quarter ended at a score of 71-26. Indian cagers scored 30 points to reach 71 points, Nepal only managed to score 13 points to reach at 26. Indians dominated Nepalese throughout the game and didn’t give them much time to come back in the match.
4th and final quarter saw Nepalese team showcasing the defensive skills to stop Indian team from scoring a century against them restricted them to 90 points whereas, Nepal team scored 18 points to finish at a respectable defeat.

This was the last match of South Asian Basketball Championship. Now Indian Basketball Team will head to participate in Asia Cup as the winner of south asian championship. Asia cup would be held in Beirut, Lebanon from 17th august to 27th august.
