Indian Badminton Queen & Rio Olympic silver medallist P.V. Sindhu goes down to her Japenese opponent in the longest match of the tournament by 19-21, 22-20, 20-22 to grab Silver medal at  “World Badminton Championship” here at Glasgow, Scotland.

This will be the first time in History that India has clinched 2 medals at World Championship, thanks to the women power, the nation has nourished in badminton.

Despite the loss, Sindhu won many hearts & see how people reacts :

Sindhu;s Silver & Saina’s Bronze also means that India has now won a medal in the last five editions of World Championship since 2011 and also the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Games. The women’s doubles combination of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa helped India bag their first medal in over 28 years in London and Sindhu grabbed the bronze in the 2013 and 14 editions. Former World no. 1 Saina won the country’s lone silver in 2015 at Jakarta

In the first game, it was OKuhura who get to a narrow lead initially by 5-3, but incredible eight straight points from Sindhu saw the Indian moving into the break with a massive lead of 11-5.

After the break, it was total domination by Japanese & the see-saw battle continues after both players got back to level at 19-19 but two straight points from Okuhara sealed the game for her by 21-19.

Second game saw Sindhu off to a flying start with a 9-3 lead but the things get back on level again at 13-13. Sindhu had 3 game points at 20-17 but all of them get wasted & the scores were back on level at 20-20, but the hardwork of Sindhu paid off after 73 long rally sealed the game for Indian by 22-20.

Third game proved to be the most intense thing in the match as the see-saw battle between Sindhu & Okuhara was worth watching. It was Japanese who pressed the accelerator at the most vital time & won the match by 21-19, 20-22, 22-20.
