UCI TRACK CYCLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018




The 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships are the World Championships for track cycling in 2018. They take place in the Netherlands at the Omnisport Apeldoorn from 28 February to 4 March 2018.

Indian women sprint team comprising of Alena Reji and Deborah Herold will represent India where only top 12 nations from 180 odd nations qualify.This being an Olympic event is a step closer to the Olympics.These two girls were also part of last year World Championship where they part in three event which is one more than this year two event.

  • Alena Reji and Deborah Herold start in Lane 1 along with Hong Kong China in team Sprint event India finish lap 1 ahead of Strong Hong Kong with 20.161 but hong kong finish lap 2 strongly and finish ahead of India. India finishes with 36.086 and Hong Kong clock 35.791. India overall finish 14th among 14 teams and failed to qualify for Main Round (Top 8 Qualify)
  • Deborah Herold finish 20th in women 500m Time Trail qualification with timing of 35.706 but failed to qualify for final as only top 8 qualify for Final. This is end of Indian Contingent at world championship.
