3 Indian wrestlers storms into Pre-Quarters of World Wrestling Championship

Today is the last day of the World Wrestling Championships and all is not lost for India in this marquee event. After few days of underwhelming performances, there seems to be some better fortunes for the Indian wrestlers today as Bajran Punia and Praveen Rana are through to pre-quaterfinals.

It started with a bang as Bajrang (65 KG) in freestyle category defeated Germany’s Alexander Semisorow by 6-2. Next, he faces Alan Gogaev of Russia

Later, Praveen Rana (74 KG) in freestyle category overpowered Kazakhstan’s Saiakbai Usupov by 4-2. The Indian grappler will be up against Jabrayil Hasanov of Azerbaijan.

Satywart kadian (97 kg) had a easy outing against his Chinese opponent. He defeated his opponent with the fall in mere 90 seconds.

However, in some disappointing news, Amit Dhankar (70 KG) in freestyle category lost his qualification match against Akzhurek Tanatarov by 2-9 of Kazakhstan.
