Anshu(57kg), Sonam Malik (62kg) and Nirmala (50kg) create big upset on day two of National trail and will now represent India in upcoming Ranking tournament, Asian Championship and hopefully at Asian olympic Qualifier.
Anshu beat world championship bronze medalist Pooja Dhanda in Quarters final by 3-1 and make a big upset. Former world Cadet Champion Anshu didn't give Pooja chance to score a point and came up with two point move in last few second to emerge victorious.
In 57kg Semifinal, 2017 Asian Championship Silver medlist Sarita more lost to another young wrestler Mansi Ahlwat by 0-6. In final it was tough fight between Anshu and Mansi but it was Anshu Malik who will be going to the Asian championships. Final bout end with 4-4 score.
Vinesh Phogat who has already qualified for Tokyo olympic win National trail in 53kg and will now represent India at upcoming Ranking tournament and Asian Championship. She like Ravi and Deepak have given bye to final. After a long wait for her bout she won final easily against Nandini of Maharashtra by 10-0 to make it to team.
Two time Cadet world champion Sonam Malik create a major upset as she defeat Olympic bronze medlist Sakshi Malik in 62kg semifinal. It was a close bout between Sakshi and Sonam, Sakshi was leading by 10-6 but young Sonam came up with 4 point in last four second to make it 10-10. And Sonam pull a win over Sakshi by 11-10 after a failed challenge by Sakshi.
In Final Sonam don't have to work that hard as she make it esily to Asian Championship with 4-1 victory over Radhika.
Nirmala won 50kg trail after beating Pinki in final in a one side bout by 10-0. Earlier she also make a upset after beating world number three Seema in Semifinal. Seema who won her opening round against Swati of Maharashtra by 12-4 could not stood up against 35 year old Nirmala in Semifinal.
Divya Kakran have to won three matches before make it to Indian team. She beat Nisha of Haryana in opening round by 5-2. Then beat another Haryana competitor Anita Sheoran by 4-0. In final she was leading by 3-0 but her opponent retire due to injury and she will now represent India in 68kg.
In 76kg Kiran will be going to Asian Championships after beating Gursharan Preet Kaur 6-3 in final. Kiran earlier beat Sudesh of Haryana while Gursharan beat Himachal girl Rani for place in final.
These Wrestler have to won medal at Asian Championship to Avoid trail for Asian Olympic Qualification tournament.
