Archery World Cup 2018 – Stage 1

The 2018 Hyundai Archery World Cup season has arrived – and we’re in China for stage one of the circuit at its customary kick off spot in the Pudong financial area of Shanghai.

It’s the 10th consecutive year the city has hosted a stop on the tour, and 11th in total as it also had a leg in 2006, and is always a popular event. More so, perhaps, this year – as Asian nations prepare for their continental games in Jakarta this summer.



16 Indian Player will participate at Archery World Cup 2018 – Stage 1 . 4 each in 4 Event. Qualification will be held on first 2 days and Final will be there on Weekend and will be telecasted Live on WorldArchery Channel.

  • In Compound Individual qualification except for Abhishek Verma who finishes 3rd, no one finish inside top 10. In women, Jyothi was leader among Indian who finish 30. In Team Compound men team of Rajat Chauhan, Chinna Raju and Abhishek Verma finish 4th while women team OF Jyothi, Muskan and Madhumita finish 8th. Mix team of Abhishek and Jyothi finish 7th.

  • In recurve Qualification, Atanu Dass finish 10th in men. In Women, Ankita Bhakat finish 8th while Deepika Kumari Finish 10th. Men Team of Sukhchain, Atanu and Ajay FInish 10th. Women team perform very well as team of Promila, Ankita and Deepika finish 4th. While Mux team Of Atanu and Ankita finish 3rd.

  • Indian team was out of form as no one can even advance to Quarter. Atanu, Abhishek, Deepika, Ankita and Jyothi all experience player lost in Pre QF. Rest lost in earlier round.
  • In team Section Compound men and women team will fight for Bronze medal. men team lost to top-seeded Korea team before beating Columbia and Turkey in earlier Round. Women Team lost to 5th seeded Russia in SemiFinal. they earlier beat 8th seeded Vietnam and Kazakhstan. Indian Women Team was seeded 8th.


  • Recurve men team lost to 7th seeded Chinese Taipei in Round of 16 while women team who was seeded 4th lost to 5th seeded China in Quarter by 1-5

  • Cpmpound Mix team Will Play Bronze against Turkey on Saturday.Compound Mix team of Abhishek and Jyothi lost in Sami final to 3rd seeded Danmark by one point by 154-155. They earlier knockout 2nd seeded USA in QF. On the other hand Mix team of Atanu and Ankita lost to 11th seeded USA in QF.
  • Indian Mix Team Won Bronze after Beating Turkey in Bronze Medal Match. Team Of Abhishek and Jyothi add one more medal to their List. They last won Silver Medal together at 2017 Asian Championship.
  • Both Compound Men and Women team Lost their Bronze medal matches to France and Netherland respecivaly.
  • India End World Cup 2018 Stage 1 with just one Bronze medal
