No. 1 seed Divya Dhayal remains the star attraction for India as the archers enjoy a good day at Asian Archery Cup on Thursday confirming India atleast two silvers.
Young sensation Divya storms into Women's Compound individual Final after defeating 4th seeded Salleh of Malaysia in a nail-bitter contest which stretched into Shoot-out where both the players shoot "9" but it was Divya whose arrow was close to 10 & that make her a winner.
Moreover, Mixed Team of Divya Dhayal & Mayank Rawat got the better of 2nd seed Iran by 146-142 to book their spot in the "Gold Medal match" . In the final India will take on 5th seed Thailand who stunned no. 1 seed Chinese Taipei in a close match by 146-145.
In Recurve individual section, Mukesh Boro who stunned no.2 seed Archer from Korea in quarter-finals, will fight for Bronze medal against no.1 seed Chun-Heng of Chinese Taipei.
Men Recurve
Only Mukesh Boro had a good outing as his way to semis he defeat no.2 seed of Korea by 6-4 & will play for Bronze-medal against No.1 seed Chun-Heng.
17th seed Amit Yadav lost his respective match to 16th seed Japanese archer while Kilenmeren went down to another Japanese archer in the second round.
Women Recurve
Only one Indian woman made it to the Quarter-finals & it was 11th seed Madhu who went down to No.3 seed Chinese Taipei archer by 0-6.
10th seed Ankita Bhakat & 13th seed Promila lost their respective second round matches.
Women Compound
It proved out to be a good day for compound archers as no.1 seed Divya Dhayal made it into the finals & will take on 10th seed Iranian archer who stunned no.2 seed in quarter-finals.
Another participants 3rd seed Purvasha & Megha Agarwal couldn't overcome their respective opponents & knocked out in the second round only.
Men Compound
There was nothing to cheer about men compound archers as no one couldn't make it in the medal round.
Only Mayank Rawat made it to the second round, other participants Shivansh, Ajay & Aman knocked out of the tournament after facing defeat in the first round only.
Team matches of Recurve & Compound category will start from tomorrow while Gold- medal matches will commence from Saturday & Sunday.
