Asian Athletics Championship : 9 Athletes qualify for the finals in morning session





It proved out to be a good morning session for Indian Athletes as nine of them find their spot in the finals of their respective categories in Asian Athletics Championship.

Women 1500m

Monika Choudhary & Chitra qualifies for the women 1500m after finishing 4th & 2nd in their respective heats with the timings of (4.26.25) & (4.36.80).

Men 1500m

Ajay kumar Saroj will be the name, India will back on for the Gold medal as he finished with the best timings of (3.51.37) in the qualifications overall & qualifies for the final of Men’s 1500m.

Another Indian in the event, Siddhartha Adhikari finish 2nd in his heat with the timings of (3.57.46) to qualify for the final.



Men 400m

Muhammed Anas who has qualify for the World Athletics Championship, easily makes it into the semis of Men’s 400m with the timings of 46.70s, while Rajiv Arokia top the qualifications overall with an creditable timing of 46-41s.

Another Indian making the cut was Jacob who ran the 400m in 47.09 to make the semis.

Men’s High Jump

Both High Jumper Chethan (2.10m) and Ajay Kumar (2.10m) qualifies for the final .

Men’s Decathlon 

It proved out to be a bad for India in Decathlon as Abhishek Shetty remains out of the “Top 5” overall. He finished last in the 100m & Long-Jump which fetch him only 725 points.

Many events are yet to come in the evening session with many finals placed, India will look to fetch many medals out of it.
