Asian Athletics Championship : Neeraj Chopra smashed meet record to grab the Gold

Asian Athletics Championship : Neeraj Chopra smashed meet record to grab the Gold

U-20 Champion & World Record Holder Neeraj Chopra smashed the meet record of Men’s Javelin Throw to clinch Gold for India in Asian Athletics Championship on Sunday.

India’s sensation Neeraj Chopra who recently participated in Paris Diamond League where he finished 5th, got the better of previous meet record by 85.23m in his last throw.

Neeraj Chopra said in an interview that he was struggling with his first few throws but after the 4th throw he got some boost & the cheer from crowd resulted in the new meet record.

It was quite visible that he was not hitting the right target in first few throws & was lacking behind but in the last throw he did wonders for the country by smashing the meet record & showed he is the guy who can perform under pressure as well. Surely, he would be the guy to look at World Championship.

Another Indian in the frame, Davinder Singh also gave a thunderous performance to grab a medal with the throw of 83.29m.  Davinder Singh was tested positive for marijuana after samples were taken during the third leg of the Indian Grand Prix in New Delhi in May but them he was allowed to participate in this prestigious event & he didn’t disappoint at all by winning medal for India.

In the Interview Davinder Singh stated that he was not fully fit & was struggling with his shoulder. He also claims that in world championship he will become the World Leader & has 100% confidence that he will win a Gold if fully fit in London World Championship to be held in August this year.

Both the players have already qualify for the London World Championship & their performances are looking more promising day by day.
