Indian mixed pair of Apurvi Chandela and Ravi kumar has given India a perfect start to the Asian Games by qualifying for 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Finals’.
The event is most sought after for India as the star experienced shooters will look to open India’s medal tally on Day 1 of the Asiad.
Shooting has always been one of the sports that has captured the imagination of the Indian fans far and wide and the Indian shooters will look to better their record on the continental level, after a successful outing at the Commonwealth games in Gold Coast, Australia, earlier this year.
India finished on second place of the qualifications with the total score of 835.3, Ravi kumar scored a brilliant 420.0 points while Apurvi had a decent outing with 415.3 points to her name. South korea qualified on first place with the total of 836.7 points while Mongolia took the 3rd place with 832.1 points.
The final of 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Finals’ will be played at 11:30 A.M. (IST) at the Jakabaring International Shooting Range, situated in Palembang, the other city hosting the Asian Games along with Jakarta. It will be live streamed on Sony Liv App and Sony Ten channels.
There is one more medal event in shooting on Day 1, that is 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team and it will be played later with young Manu Bhaker and Abhishek Verma carrying the Indian hopes.
Meanwhile, in the other qualifications, Seema Tomar and Shreyasi Singh in Trap women, Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Lakshay in Trap men will participate.
