Asian Games 2018: India’s Day 13 Schedule

After a disastrous loss of Indian hockey team against Malaysia in semifinals, India’s athletics team did well to save the day for the country and stretched the medal tally to 59 medals (13 Gold, 21 Silver & 25 Bronze).

India’s 4x400m women’s relay team clinched its fifth consecutive gold medal at the Asian Games while Jinson Johnson, who won the silver medal in men’s 800m event, clinched the gold in 1500m event this time.

India has already surpassed the number of medals (57) won in 2014 Incheon Asian Games, with two more action pack days left in the Asiad.

Boxing action will return tomorrow, as Amit Panghal in men’s 49kg category will be up against Paalam (PHI) and Vikas Krishan Yadav will take on Amankul (KAZ) in 75kg category with the final spots on stake.

Meanwhile, after the sad loss of men’s hockey team, women’s team will play their final against Japan tomorrow to win the historical gold medal and a spot in Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Squash teams, who have ensured themselves atleast a bronze medal, will play their semi-finals. Indian women’s squash team will have a difficult task as they will be up against the number 1 seed Malaysia.

In Judo, lots of hope will be there from Olympian Avtar Singh, who will kick off his campaign against Remarenco (UAE) in round of 16 in men’s 100 kg category.

In table tennis, Achanta Sharath Kamal, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Manika Batra will play their respective round of 16 matches.
