Asian Gymnastics Championship : Pranati finished at “4th” place, just missed out on a Medal

In the absence of Olympian Dipa karmakar, Indian Women Gymnastics Team didn’t disappoint at all as Pranati Nayak & Aruna Reddy competing in Vault event finished 4th & 6th respectively in the Finals of Asian Gymnastic Championship. 

Pranati Nayak did a creditable job by finishing at 4th position with a overall score of 13.300 (13.250 + 13.250). Another Indian in Vault Final, Aruna Reddy finished 6th with an overall score of 12.825.

Gold of this event went to Chinese gymnast with a score of 14.400 points, while Silver & Bronze went to North Korea’s Su Jong & Rye Yong with overall score of 14.000 & 13.900 respectively.

Dipa karmakar’s score of 15.066 at Rio Olympics would have been alot to fetch India a “Gold” in Asian Gymnastics Championship but she is undergoing a therapy after getting injured last month.

Rakesh Patra who finished the qualifications at 6th place to book his seat in Men’s Ring Apparatus Final, couldn’t capitalise his spot as he finished the finals at 8th place with the overall score of 13.150 .

Gold of this event went to China’s JingYuan with a score of 15.000, Silver went to Honkong & Chinese Taipei with 14.925 & 14.825 points respectively .

Pranati Nayak will appear in one more final of Women’s Balance Beam event at Asian Gymnastics Championship later today !!
