Indian grapplers are showing some great performances at ongoing Asian Junior Wrestling Championship as they managed to win five medals on Day 2 including a Gold, two Silvers & two Bronze.
India has enhanced their medal tally to 7 medals till now (1 Gold, 2 Silver, 4 Bronze)
Girl's Freestyle :
Pooja Gehlot brings glory to the nation by beating tough opponent from Japan (Chisaki) by 6-5 in a nail biting contest to bag the only Gold for India. Earlier, she defeated Cih Chiu of Chinese Taipei in the semi-finals comfortably by 11-2 to book her seat to the finals.
Pooja is supported by Olympic Gold Quest NGO & surely is a future talent to watch.
Another wrestler in Girl's freestyle final Sonu had to face defeat from her Chinese opponent by 4-14 in 44 kg category & had to settle for silver medal only.
Manju kumari clinched India's third medal in Women's freestyle category after she defeated kyrgyzstan's opponent by technical superiority (10-0).
Boy's Greco-Roman :
Satish in 120 KG Greco-Roman category had to settle for Silver too as he couldn't overcame the challenge of Hossein from Iran & had to face defeat by 3-6.
Manish in 55 kg category surpass his opponent from Japan by 7-5 in a close & intense match to win another Bronze for India.
With this medal, India finished their campaign in Boy's Greco-Roman category with 4 medals (1 Silver & 3 Bronze).
