Tokyo Olympic Qualifications

2020 Fencing Qualification is primarily based on the FIE Official Ranking as of April 4, 2020, with further individual places available at zonal qualifying tournaments.

In team, India don’t have any chance to finish inside Olympic Ranking. So Bhavani have to depend on Individual Ranking or Zonal Qualifier.

In Individual, 24 spots will be given to fencer of Qualified teams (3 each to 8 qualified team)as the fencer qualifed in team event will play in Individual event also. After those 24 sports 10 more quota will be awarded to country who do not have teams.

Out of those 10, quota will be given to each contenent on the basis of ranking. Two quota will be awarded the highest-ranked eligible fencers in Europe, two from Asia-Oceania, one from Africa and one from Pan-America.

Max one quota per country will be given to Europe and Asia-Oceania.

Currently Bhavani is Top Fencer from Asia if we leave Korea, China and Japan. So her chance for Making it to Olympic is brighter.

In Case Japan did not use their Host Quota in women Sebra, still Bhavani Devi will be Second among Asian/ Oceania after Japan (who has 3 fencer ahead of Bhavani but they will get only one quota).
