Chinki Yadav earns 11th Shooting Quota for India Yadav earns 11th Shooting Quota for India

21-year-old Chinki Yadav earns Tokyo Olympic quota as she qualify for finals of the 25m Pistol Women event at the Asian Shooting Championships which is going in Doha.

Rahi Sarnobat has already secured the quota place for India in the event in earlier competitions. Hence complete India’s max quota in 25m Women pistol event.

Manu Bhakar who has got Olympic quota in 10m pistol event is also in hunt for 25m pistol place as she has achieved MQS in this event. So now it will be interesting to see who will be choosen in this event by Shooting Fedration (NRAI).

There is Quota Change possibility as quota belong to nation not to athlete. Like in 2016 Sanjeev Rajput won 50m Rifle position quota. But NRAI decided to exchange it with an additional men’s trap spot, which was awarded to Manavjit Singh Sandhu.

Chinki shot an exceptional 292 on day 1 of 25m pistol event and was looking to make the final on Friday. On second day today, Chinki kept her good form going on day 2 also and shoot 99,97 and 100.

Career-best 588 was enough for Chinki to make it to final of 25m pistol event and also earn Tokyo Olympic spot.

Shooting Qualifications

Now four-event left for Tokyo Olympic Qualifications as India has Max two places in Men 10m Pistol even. In men 50m 3 position Sanjeev Rajput has earned a Tokyo spot while India will be looking to earn second quota as well.

In Skeet (men, women) and 50m rifle 3 position women India don’t have any quota. This is last Qualifications event left for shooting and only chance left for Qualifications is via Ranking. Where Anish in 25m Pistol Rapid fire has chance to qualify via Ranking as India don’t have any quota in event.

India has overall 24 quota so far in 5 Sports.
