The things have been confirmed & fans will witness another "Clash of the Titans" between World no.1 & 2 Rafael Nadal & Roger Federer in the finals of Shanghai Masters.
Though Del Potro got off to a brilliant start & took the first set by 6-3, Federer was quick to response & equalise the things by taking the 2nd set by 6-3 in his favour.
Final & 3rd set saw Federer dominating the things as he broke the serve of Potro twice to seal the things in his favour by 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 & book a showdown with his old rival Rafael Nadal.
Del Potro who was in doubt to play the semis after slipped and fell on his left wrist during his Shanghai Masters quarter-final win over Victor Troicki.
It was the same wrist he's had three courses of surgery on in the past and the Argentine had to have extensive treatment on court.
The incident occurred in the fifth game of the deciding set and Del Potro managed to suck it up and grind out a win.
But he had an MRI scan last night and tested his wrist on court this morning before deciding to play.
Earlier, Rafael Nadal survived a rollercoaster encounter with fourth seed Cilic to power into Sunday's final of the Shanghai Masters.
The Spanish world number one, who has never won the tournament but is on a terrific run of form, finally saw off the Croat after saving three set points in the opener on the way to a tense 7-5, 7-6 (7/3) victory.
Cilic had only ever got the better of 16-time Grand Slam winner Nadal once in five previous meetings, but he made him work hard for this latest win.
Nadal, pursuing a seventh title this season, put Cilic under immediate pressure in the Croat's first two service games.
But the 29-year-old Cilic, the 2014 US Open champion, eventually settled, only to squander three set points as Nadal hung on grimly.
