India's gold rush in Commonwealth Games continues as Former World no.1 Jitu Rai bags gold medal while Mitharval wins the bronze medal in the 10m men's air pistol shooting event in Commonwealth Games
, Gold Coast, Australia.Rai, who won a gold medal in 50m men's pistol event in Glasgow Commonwealth Games shot a total of 235.1 in finals to set a new Games Record while his team-mate Om Mitharval shot a total of 214.3 to clinch the bronze medal. Australia’s Kerry Bell won silver (233.5).
Om Mitharval smashed the qualification record to top the qualifications while Jitu finished on 5th place to qualify for the finals.
With these two medals, Indian medal tally moves up to 15 with 8 Gold, 3 Silver, 4 Bronze.
Earlier, weightlifter Pradeep Singh won a silver medal for the country in men's 105kg category by lifting a total of 352kg.
Meanwhile, Indian men's table tennis team has also advanced t the "gold medal match" after defeating defending champions Singapore today by 3-2. They will take on England or Nigeria in the finals today.
