Deepika Kumari Won quota no 29 for India as she finish on in Archery Asian Olympic Qualifier. Deepika won Asian Archery Qualifier Gold medal against another Indian Ankita Bhakat by 6-0 to finish on the top of podium.
IN Archery, Olympic quota belong to Nation not to athlete. So it will be on Archery fedration who will decide who will go to olympic to represent India. But Archery fedration is suspended by world archery so it will be interesting to see what will happen next.
If suspension is not over then India athlete have to participate in olympic under Independent athlete and medal won will not be counted under Indian medal telly.
Earlier Deepika Kumari who was seeded first won her first match by 7-3 have to struggle in second round where match was tied at 4-4 but Kumari hit 28 compare to Irani 26 and won the match.
After that it was not difficult to Deepika to make it to final and confirm quota. In final Deepika make it one sided against Ankita who knockout third seeded in QF. Deepika won final by 6-0.
There is one more Qualifier left in Archery where women Recurve archer can target team quota as well as three individual quota. In that qualifier Archers from all contenent will fight for three team and ten individual quota. World Qualifier will take place on June 2020.
By this quota India also confirm Mix team quota as well. Mix team event is newly added archery event to olympic.
Indian quota count after this reach to 29. Indian men Archery team has already confirm quota place after finishing on podium at world Archery championship.
Bhutan win their first ever olympic quota in Archery . Vietnam also will make it's Olympic debut in archery next year in Tokyo with 1 athlete competing in each gender.
