The UFC light heavyweight champion called out the former heavyweight king after he regained his crown at UFC 214 last month.
Jones has never fought at heavyweight, but a clash between him and Lesnar has certainly caught the attention of MMA fans.
And the 30-year-old believes that with the world currently captivated by Conor McGregor’s fight with Floyd Mayweather, he and Lesnar could repeat the trick with their showdown.
‘It’s a big money fight,’ Jones said on The Jim and Sam Show.
‘I think I was inspired by Conor McGregor, to be honest with you.
‘To just dare and to reach, reach higher. Me versus Brock Lesnar is somewhat equivalent to Mayweather and McGregor.’
He added: ‘A lot of people would assume that I would lose that fight. Brock Lesnar is super athletic.
Mayweather vs McGregor is in line to be the most successful fight in boxing history in terms of pay-per-views and revenue.
The US PPV is set at just under $100 and both men are expected to collect upwards of $100million each from the fight.
Las Vegas will host the event which sees UFC star McGregor make his boxing debut against the undefeated Mayweather.
Lesnar is currently unavailable for competition as he is officially retired from MMA and has the small matter of a frozen drugs ban on his record.
Should the WWE star decide he wants to return to the UFC, he must serve out the remainder of his ban.
