Jang kung Lee of korea becomes the most valuable international player after he was retained by Bengal & due to dynamic pricing his price went up to whooping Rs 80.3 Lakhs in Pro kabaddi League Season 5.

Now Dynamic pricing is a very complex rule of Pro kabaddi Season 5 !! Lets us see the Base price of Retained players first !

Base Prices

1. Elite/Retained Players and Priority picks premium base prices

Category A – INR 35 Lakh
Category B – INR 20 Lakh
Category C – INR 12 Lakh

Dynamic Pricing

For the Elite player (Elite retained or priority pick), the final salary will be dependent on the particular team’s highest spend on a player during the auction. This means that their salary cap will be updated Real-Time on the day of the auction. The salary payable to Elite player shall be the higher of:

– The premium base salary or

– A 10% increment on the highest amount bid by the respective Franchisee for any other Player of the same or lower category acquired in the Season V Open Auction

For example – If a player retained by a Franchise is a Cat B player (with premium base salary of say 20Lacks) and during the auction the Franchise bids 40L for either a Cat B or Cat C player (which is greater than premium base salary of retained player) then the salary payable to Elite player will be 44L

Note – if Franchise bids 40 L for Cat A player, this does not change the salary payable to elite player because the Elite player (Cat B) is a lower category player than auctioned player (cat A)

Now, Because Bengal bought Surjeet Singh for Rs 73 Lakhs, Jang Lee’s price went up to (RS 73 Lakhs + 10%) i.e. Rs 80.3 Lakhs . Iran’s Abozar Mohajermighani sold to Team Gujarat for RS 50 lakh.

Pro Kabaddi League : Nitin Tomar becomes most expensive player of PKL, Pakistan players go unsold

Emerging kabaddi players from Different countries shows us the popularity of the sport is improving season by season. They are even surpassing the most Indian players in terms of price tag !!

Top 5 International Buys :

Name Team Price Nationality
Jang kun Lee
(Retained)
Bengal Warriors Rs 80.30 Lakhs SOUTH KOREA
Meraj Sheykh
(Retained)
Dabang Delhi Rs 57.75 Lakhs IRAN
Abozar Mohajermighani Team Gujarat RS 50 Lakhs IRAN
AbuFazal Dabang Delhi Rs 31.8 Lakhs IRAN
