India is making a buzz at Asian Track Cycling Championships as Ronaldo Singh Laitonjam Ronaldo Singh won Gold medal in men’s junior Kierin event in Incheon, Korea.
The 2020 Asian Track Cycling Championships is taking place at the Jincheon National Training Center Velodrome in Jincheon, South Korea from 17 to 21 October 2019. Despite the event is planned for 2020, it is brought forward to October 2019 because of the 2020 Summer Olympics qualification timeline.
Apart from Ronaldo, James Singh also brought laurel for the nation as he clinched a bronze medal in the same event where Ronaldo Strike Gold. KANG, Seojun of Korea Won Silver Medal.
Overall India won 5 Medals But all of them come in Junior Event. In senior Punam Chand was Closest to Podium as he finishes 6th in individual Pursuit event.
Ronaldo Finish on top with 10.384 in Individual Kierin event, Seojun was 0.253 behind Ronaldo. James Singh also was quick enough to finish third with 11.146 sec.
Ronaldo also bags bronze medal along with Rojit Singh and paul Collingwood in Men Junior Team Sprint Final.Ronaldo in World no 1 in two Junior Event.
Double Glory For Triyasha
Triyasha Paul conitue her Track Asia cup good run as she Won 2 Bronze medals. Two Bronze medals come in Women junior 500m Time Trial and in Junior Women Team sprint. In Team sprint paul along With Trisha Nisha beat HONG KONG, CHINA team to Win Bronze Medal For India.
In 500m Time Trail Triyasha finish after China and Korea to win Bronze with 36.937 sec.
Mula Ram Finish 7th in junior Individual pursuit whereas in the senior team event he along with Venkappa, Naman and Manjeet finishes fifth. In junior women, Pursuit Swati Singh misses out a medal as she losses to Chao of China in Bronze medal match.
In Women Junior Team pursuit, Swati, Chayanika, Sahana and Kriti also misses out medal after losing to KAZAKHSTAN in Bronze Medal match.
Esow Failed to deliver at Senior Level
Esow Failed to deliver at Senior Level as he Finishes ninth in KEIRIN event, Esow did not made it to final as he finishes 7th in Semifinal and he has to compete in B final where he finished third. In team Sprint Esow along with Jemsh and Sandeep failed to reach final as they finish 8th overall. There is two more days Left in this event and Indian Cyclist will be aiming for Glory in Upcoming day.
