Sai Praneeth becomes the “Thailand Open Grand Prix” Champion

Sai Praneeth bags the two titles in a row (Singapore Open & Thailand Open) in Men’s Singles !

Indian ace shuttler got the better of 4th seeded Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in an intense three-setter match by 17-21 21-18 21-19 to win his second title back to back !

Jonatan gave a tremendous fight to Indian challenge & even was up after first set but Sai bounced back quite incredibly t win the last two sets !

Sai Praneeth who became the only second Indian to win a Super Series after his Singapore Open win in April was in great form & he was yet to loose a set coming to the Final match.

This was the first time both the shuttlers were facing each other in any international event & it was Indian who emerge victorious in a nail-biting contest !!

After loosing the first set, Indian started with a bang to lead the second by 8-1 but it was Jonatan who went into break leading by 11-10. Sai played some good shots in the end to win the second set & level the things.

In the final set, Sai was trailing by 3-8 but he did well to win 4 straight points & narrow the trail. The decider was so intense that it was impossible to choose a winner as both the players were pretty even ! But Indian Sai had the last laugh who took the match by 17-21 21-18 21-19.

Now Praneeth will be featuring in Indonesia Super Series & he looks in hot form ! He will be joined by Olympic medallist P.V.Sindhu & Doubles Specialist Ashwini Ponnappa.
