17 Indian player including World championship PV Sindhu, Olympic Bronze medlist Saina Nehwal, World championship bronze medlist Sai Praneeth and Kidambi Srikanth will play in Malaysia master this week. Five of them will start from qualifier.
The Malaysia Masters, began in 2009, is a badminton tournament at the Super 500 grade, formerly a Grand Prix Gold. The total prize money is US$350,000. BWF categorised Malaysia Masters as one of the seven BWF World Tour Super 500 events as per new BWF events structure since 2018.
Men single have maximum eight entry out of which Lakshya Sen, Sourabh Verma and Subhankar Dey are in Qualifier. In women double Pooja and Sanjana will start from qualifier.
In men single Qualifier one have to win two matches to enter main draw while in women double only one win will be enough for Main draw entry.
Top rank Indian men single player Sai Praneeth will be up against Rasmus Gemke of Denmark. Sai is in bottom half and have second seeded Chou Tien Chen, Jonatan Christie , Chen Long  and fifth seeded Viktor Axelsen in his half.
Kidambi Srikanth will face second seeded Chou Tien in opening round. Kidambi was struggling from poor form last year and this tournament will be important for him.

Other Indian in single, P.Kashyap will face top seeded and man in form Kento Momota in opening round while H.S Pranoy will face another Japnese Kanta Tsuneyama in first round. Sameer Verma have easier first round draw as he will be up against Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand.
In women single olympic bronze medlist Saina Nehwal will also try to perform good in this tournament as she is targeting top 16 spot in Tokyo Olympic ranking. She will face qualifier in opening round .Saina may have 17 year old young sensation from Korea AN Se Young in second round of both Saina and Young won opening g
An Se young was out side top 100 at the start of 2019 but her brilliant performance in 2019 has bring her to world number nine.
Regaining world champion PV Sindhu also have tricky draw. Sindhu have Evgeniya Kosetskaya of Russia in opening round. She have top seeded Tai Tzu Ying, He Bing Jiao and Nozomi Okuhara in her half.
Tough Draw for Double Player
Indian raising star Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty may have to face eighth seeded Chiense pair of Han Cheng Kai and Zhou Hao Dong in second round. They have easy opening round . Later if they won second round they may have fourth seeded Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda for place in Semifinal.
In mix double both Indian pair have horrible draw as Sikki and Pranav is up against top seeded Chinese pair while Ashwini and Satwik will be facing second seeded Chinese pair in opening round.
In women double Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa have Chang Ye Na and Kim Hye Rin of Korea in opening round. If have third seeded Mayu Matsumoto and Wakana Nagahara of Japan in their half.
