It was a great day for India today in Thailand Open 2019 as 8 Indian wins and move to pre QF.

The best moment of the day for India was when Satwiksairaj Rankireddy / Ashwini Ponnappa stun world no. 5 and 2016 Rio Olympics silver medallist pair Chan Peng Soon / Goh Liu Ying of Malaysia in mixed doubles. They had to fight hard for the win but eventually defeated the Malaysian pair with the score 21-18, 18-21, 21-17.

They have a comparatively easy match tomorrow against Alfian Eko Prasetya/ Marsheilla Gischa Islami of Indonesia.

As expected Saina Nehwal clear 1st round very easily in 39 minutes only. She beat Phittayaporn Chaiwan of Thailand 21-17,21-19 in women’s single. But 5th seeded Kidambi Srikanth had some fight to win the 1st round. He defeated Ren Peng Bo of China 21-13,17-21, 21-19 in men’s single.

In other matches, Prannoy HS beat Wong Wing Ki Vincent of Hongkong 21-16,22-20 in men’s single. Pranav Jerry Chopra / Sikki Reddy beat Kohei Gondo / Ayane Kurihara of Japan 21-16,21-13 in mixed doubles.

Parupalli Kashyap beat Misha Zilberman of Israel 18-21,21-8,21-14 in men’s single. Subhankar Dey got a walkover in the match against first seeded Kento Momota of Japan.

Sai Praneeth came back strong to win against Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand 17-21,21-17,21-15 in men’s single.

But it was the end of the journey for Sourabh Verma, Sai Uttejitha Rao Chukka and Sameer Verma in the very first round. Sourabh Verma lost to Kanta Tsuneyama of Japan 21-23, 21-19, 5-21 in men’s single. Sai Uttejitha Rao Chukka lost to Chen Xiao Xin of China 17-21, 17-21 in men’s single.
