Shivpal Singh Qualify for Tokyo Olympic

Shivpal Singh qualifies for the javelin throw event at the Tokyo Olympics with a throw of 85.47m at the ACNW league meeting in Potchefstroom.



Neeraj Chopra has earlier Achieve Olympic Qualification from same meet in South Africa. Annu Rani threw 61.15m in her first competition of the year to won Gold in Women catageory. Third Indian Arshdeep Singh throw 75.02m to won bronze medal in Men catageory.

24-Year-Old Shivpal who has Personal best of 86.23m which he throw at Asian Championships, Doha to won Silver medal throw three 80+m throw today. He started compitition with 75.97m improve it to 79.33m in his third throw but was second behind Toni Kuusela of Finland who had best of 80.14m till three throw break.

He came back with huge 85.47m in fifth throw to book Olympic Qualification and won gold medals . He also has 81.50m and 81.83m throw. Toni Kuusela finish second behind shivpal who only had one legal throw. Arshdeep Singh who started with 68.22m finish third with 75.02m.

In Women, Annu Rani throw 61.15m to won Gold medal. Annu Rani is currently in good position to qualify for Olympic via ranking she is currently rank 13 in world.



With Shivpal Singh Qualifications Indian quota telly reaches 41 across seven sports. He is 6th Indian to qualify in Athletics. Irfan Thodi (20km Walk), Avinash Sable (Men’s 3000 m steeplechase), Bhawna Jat ( Women 20km Walk), 4×400m Mix relay and Neeraj Chopra (javelin throw) has already qualified in Athletics.
