Men’s Singles Final of Singapore Open will witness a all Indian Affair as both Kidambi Srikanth & Sai Praneeth outplayed their opponents to move to the finals of Sinapore Open .
With all seeded players already out of the tournament, it was semis between the unseeded players & in the first semis World Rank 30 Sai Praneeth was against Korean Lee Dong ranked No.35 in world, the match proved to be one sided affair as Sai didn’t take much time to defeat the korean in straight sets 21-6, 21-8.
Last & the only meeting between Sai Praneeth & Lee Dong was won by the korean in 2015, but the story was different today as Sai dominated Lee through out the match & didn’t gave a single chance to Lee to bounce back as the match was wrapped up by Indian in just 38 minutes.
In another semis of Men’s Singles category Kidambi Srikanth was up against Indonesian Anthony Ginting & the things were no different as Kidambi too dominated his opponent to book his place in the finals defeating him in two straight sets 21-13,21-14
Kidambi was trailing by 4-9 in the first set but the Indian bounced back strongly by winning straight 7 points & won the first set by 21-13 easily. Second set had similar story as kidambi was in no mood to stretch the game into three sets & won the second set by 21- 14 to set up a clash against Sai Praneeth.
It will be interesting to see who will get heavy on whom as both players knows each other & has played against each other many times in National Championships.
Getting into the final will boost up the rankings of both players as they both are expected to climb up in rankings of Men’s Singles.
