Missed any sporting action for the month May ? Well, here are the result of all sports regarding Indian participation . As the month is about to end, lets have a look at the sports where our players made us Proud !!

  • Boxing

Indian Boxers did a creditable job to clinch 4 medals (2 Silver & 2 Bronze) at Asian Boxing Championship & also won 7 World Championship Quotas to end their campaign.

India grab the 5th position in Asian Wrestling Championship after bagging 10 medals (1 Gold, 5 Silver & 4Bronze). Bajrang Punia was the lone Indian to take the Gold.

  • Hockey

Indian Hockey team did a creditable job to clinch a Bronze in 26th Azlan Shah Cup beating New-zealand by 4-0 ! The only shock came when low-ranked Malaysia defeated India by 0-1.

HOCKEY RESULTS :

  • Basketball

Indian Men’s Basketball team completed their historical five peat after winning the “South Asian Basketball Championship” for the fifth consecutive time & with this they also qualified for the Asia Cup.

  • Badminton

Despite a poor show in Asian Badminton Championships, India displayed a great performance in Sudirman Cup, in their road to quarters they beat higher ranked Indonesia before going down to “10 times Champion” China.

India end their campaign in Asian Judo Championship on a disappointing note as none of the player was able to win medal. Top players like Avatar Singh & Garima also failed to reach Semis of the competition !!

 

  • Athletics

The month of may was full of Athletics action as couple of Indian Grand Prix saw many Indians qualifying for the London World Championships.

Indian Shooters had a disappointing month as no Indian was able to grab a medal in ISSF World Cup, Munich.

Indian Men Compound Team won the lone Gold for India in Archery World Cup Stage-1, Shanghai !

  • Golf

Golf had a busy outing too as many tournaments were played and Indian Golfers showed a great dedication specially Shiv kapur & Gaganjeet Bhullar who finished Runner-up in Thailand Open.
