It will be a Sunday full of sports for Indian sporting fans as many finals are lined up for the day with 2017 World Champion Mirabai Chanu and World Youth Gold medalist sprinter Hima Das will be in action in Asian Weightlifting Championship and Asian Athletics Championship respectively.
On the other hand, India’s no.1 singles tennis player, Prajnesh Gunneswaran will play the final of Kunming Open against Britain’s 14th seed Jay Clarke.
There will be more sporting action for the day in form of Badminton, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Judo, Boxing, Basketball and evergreen Cricket (IPL).
Asian Athletics Championship
The first day on Sunday will decide eight gold medals and from the Indian point of view, the women’s 400m final will be the most interesting one as sprinting sensation Hima Das will hit the track for the preliminary round in the morning and for final in the evening (if she qualifies).
Bahrain’s Salwa Naser will start as the overwhelming favourite to take the gold in the women’s quarter-mile event. She had beaten Hima comfortably in the Asian Games 400m final.
This Asian Championships is crucial as the gold medallist gets the automatic qualification for the World Championships.
Apart from her, another star sprinter Dutee Chand will be in action too.

Asian Weightlifting Championship
Star Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu will aim to break the 200kg barrier when she competes in the Asian weightlifting championships in Ningbo, China, on Sunday.
Mirabai, who won the World Championship in 48kg category, missed out Asian games due to a lower back injury. But she came back incredibly well after clinching the gold medal by lifting 192kg in February this year in Olympic qualifying event EGAT Cup in Chinag Mai, Thailand.
A Gold & Asian Title will give her the maximum ranking points which will help her in securing a Tokyo Olympics 2020 berth.
Chanu will be in action at 3:30 PM (IST).

Defending Champion Prajnesh Gunneswaran stormed into the final of the Kunming Open after defeating Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak 7-6 (5), 6-7 (3), 6-4 in the semifinal on Saturday.
He will take on Britain’s Jay Clarke in the final. Match Timings – 11:30 AM (IST).
Asian Boxing Championship 2019
Indian boxers will also take the ring to punch gold in Asian Boxing Championship being held in Bangkok, Thailand. World Championship silver medalist Sonia Chahal and Asian Games gold winner Amit Panghal will be India’s best bets for glory.

World Table Tennis Champions 2019
The Indian men’s team performed admirably in the World championships last year finishing 13th, its best-ever. This year when the Worlds individual events begin on Sunday, they will be hoping the same by creating some upsets in the tournament.
The team will also hope they do well together in the doubles and expect the mixed doubles pair of Sharath and Manika Batra to make some waves.
