Indian Golfer Shiv kapur showed a phenomenal effort to clinch his First Asian Tour Title since 2005. Shiv fires a brilliant eight-under 64 (-8) on the last day of Yeander Heritage to clinch the Title.
Kapur, who is finding his game back, after two testing years — during which he lost his card in Europe –, is eight-under 208 and just two shots behind leader Yikeun Chang of Korea (68).
kapur was struggling till Round 2, as he was tied 8th with three-under score but he showed a great commitment to bounce back & put a fine show in Round 3 to score five-under 67 & gets into Top 3 to end the day.
Last Day or Round 4 of the Tour saw Kapur in a massive form as he clinched the title after scoring a brilliant eight-under 64, making his total score of 272 with sixteen-under (-16). Second place went to Gavin Green of Malaysia who scored fourteen-under (-14).

“It is nice to be in contention after all that I went through last year. Lying on the hospital bed you think about putting yourself back into contention. It is nice to be back, feeling fit and seeing my name on the leaderboard,” Kapur said.
“I had liver abscess and had to go for surgery. I was out for three months (since September, 2016) and came back a little sooner than I should have. I was pushing my body really hard but now I finally feel that things are back to normal. I’m just glad to be back and playing golf,” he added.
Another Indians in frame, Sujjan Singh & HimmatRai finished Tied 22nd with a score of five-under (-5), S.Chikkarangappa finished Tied 27th with a score four under(-4) followed by Khalin Joshi who finished Tied 39 (-2), Rahil (+2) & Chiragh Kumar (+5) finished Tied 52 & 60 respectively.
Shiv kapur has started this season quite well with a Asian Tour win & it will be interesting to see if he will continue this form in other tournaments too.
